The  Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia‘s Professional Advisors Committee (PAC) has existed since 1999 and has played a critical role in the operation, promotion and facilitation of the Foundation’s endowment programs. The committee is composed of a volunteer group of specially chosen attorneys, financial planners, bankers, and related professionals to advise the Foundation of ways to reach other professionals like themselves, and in turn, their common clientele.

 

These professionals guide the Foundation and are available to donors and prospective donors to advise regarding estate planning and business, tax, and family matters. The ability to refer inquiries on sophisticated legal and tax matters to the Professional Advisors Committee places the Foundation in a very secure position. In keeping with the mission of the Foundation to “connect people with causes that matter,” a new fund called the Connection Fund was created as a result of a suggestion made during a 2008 PAC planning session. The PAC members two objectives were to: (a) “put our money where our mouth is” and (b) learn firsthand what it takes to create and manage a fund. The Connection Fund has since been able to provide several grants enabling the members to truly achieve those objectives.
