Save the date for Annandale’s 5th Annual Extra Mile 5K Walk/Run!

On Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Town Center Park in Suwanee, Georgia, join hundreds of walkers and runners in the spirit of caring and giving to make a powerful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries by participating in The Extra Mile 5k Walk/Run benefiting Annandale Village. The Extra Mile 5k Walk/Run is a fundraising and disabilities awareness campaign that brings together families, friends, businesses, schools and community organizations to honor and celebrate individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries.

Rotary Club of Gwinnett makes donations to local nonprofits

Each year the Rotary Club of Gwinnett awards grants to local nonprofits thanks to their annual fundraising efforts and a charitable endowment the club set up years ago via the Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia. The club’s Charitable Giving Committee conducts a formalized granting process.

Grant award recipients this year include:

• Friends of Disabled Adults and Children: $2,500 for home medical equipment program;

• Interlocking Communities: $1,000 for Ready by Five program;

• Norcross High School Foundation: $2,500 for After School Matters transportation;

• Partnership Against Domestic Violence: $1,000 for teen dating violence prevention;

• The Path Project: $1,000 for after school program technology; and

• Rainbow Village: $2,000 for technology resources
