Meet Board Member Sam Park

Meet one of our newest board members, Sam Park! A Georgia native, Sam serves as the Georgia State Representative for House District 101 and is an attorney for Positive Impact Health Centers, a nonprofit working to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Georgia.

CFNEG: Why is being involved in the community/giving back important to you?
Sam: My community gave me the opportunity to pursue and achieve my American Dream. So, to show my appreciation, I am committed to doing all I can to keep the American Dream alive for the next generation.

CFNEG: What do you want people to know about the Community Foundation?
Sam: The Community Foundation is a great organization comprised of dedicated Georgians who are committed to using the resources they have to serve and strengthen our community.

CFNEG: What do you hope to accomplish as a board member?
Sam: As a board member, I hope to strengthen the relationship between the public and private sector to address the challenges we face and serve the next generation of Georgians.

CFNEG: What other causes/organizations are you passionate about?
Sam: As a Georgia State Legislator, I am passionate about expanding access to healthcare for all Georgians and strengthening American Democracy by protecting and expanding the right to vote. As General Counsel for Positive Impact Health Centers, Inc., the largest AIDS service organization in Georgia, I am also passionate and committed to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Georgia.

CFNEG: What do you enjoy about your career?
Sam: I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve my community, to be their voice, and to advocate for the best interest of those who call Georgia home.

CFNEG: Important people in your life?
Sam: While I am currently single, I have two sisters and a new baby nephew. I also adopted an abandoned kitty during the COVID19 pandemic whom I named Mira!

CFNEG: Hobbies?
Sam: I love hiking the Appalachian Trail and our beautiful National Parks. I also enjoy road trips and getting lost in nature.

CFNEG: What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
Sam: I am a natural introvert.

CFNEG: One positive thing you’ve learned from the COVID-19 pandemic?
Sam: Together, there is nothing we cannot overcome.
